Tiger Alliance is a fun, engaging experience designed to expose you to the college environment and help you clarify your goals and plans after high school. Whether you know exactly what college you want to attend, you're not sure if college is for you, or you're somewhere in between, there is a place in Tiger Alliance for you! To be eligible to join Tiger Alliance you must:

  • Be in the ninth grade.
  • Attend one of our nine partner schools.
  • Have at least a 2.5 GPA (flexible).
  • Be in good behavioral standing.

The 2021 Tiger Alliance application opens on Wednesday, February 17, and closes Wednesday, March 24. All interested students are encouraged to fill out the application online. If you prefer a paper application, please reach out to your TA school partner or contact Matthew Kirk. Virtual and paper applications are available in English and in Spanish!

“I would definitely encourage ninth graders to apply to be in Tiger Alliance because it helps you get a head start in planning for college or whatever you want to do in life. It reminds us that we have a choice; we get to choose if we want to go to college. ... It shows us that we have options.”

Prospective Ambassadors

Tiger Alliance is an educational, fun, work-intensive experience that will prove to be very rewarding. As an ambassador, you will greatly affect the lives of the participating students and will be held to standards that reflect this responsibility. It is our hope that through the TA Ambassador position, students will consciously gain leadership and mentoring skills that will help them develop as leaders and expand their views of what it means to give back and help others find their way to college.

“One of the major things I’ve enjoyed in the program is the mentorship — always having a big brother figure there to help guide me.”

Jay Smith
