 Profile

Dr. Hui-Lin Tsai is a Clinical Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Public Health Sciences at Clemson University and a Licensed Acupuncturist in the J. F. Sullivan Center. In addition to providing acupuncture clinic service in the Sullivan Center, Dr. Tsai conducts research and teaching centered on the safety and efficacy of acupuncture treatment, with specific focus on the enablement of standardized and persistent monitoring and data collection for assessing patient response beyond the clinical environment. Dr. Tsai currently leads a Creative Inquiry project in collaboration with Dr. K.-C. Wang in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering to create a smart phone based continuous patient joint modeling solution. The project is a part of an initiative to enable comprehensive and flexible data collection for clinical studies. Dr. Tsai is a member of National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Pain management. Efficacy and safety of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
