Certificates, Certifications and Endorsements

College of Education Certificates

The College of Education offers opportunities for students to engage in courses designed to award or lead to certificates, certifications and endorsements that enhance their overall educational experience and prepare them for leadership opportunities across their lives and careers.

Certificates (awarded by Clemson University) – These certificate programs are part of the College of Education's commitment to developing leadership that will systemically improve education and affect positive change in classrooms, athletic fields, businesses and all the places students work and serve after graduation.

Certifications (awarded by the State Department of Education) - Educators may be eligible to add certification fields to their existing credential. A certification field is defined as a content area or subject which may be issued on an educator credential and reflects an educator’s content and/or professional preparation.

Endorsements (awarded by the State Department of Education) – Educators may be eligible to add specialized endorsements to their existing credential. These specialized endorsements recognize additional preparation and expertise. In some instances, a specialized endorsement may be required to teach a specific course for students.
