Transition takes time! While students can expect heavy social programming during our first week, the fun won't stop there. The Center for Student Leadership and Engagement, in collaboration with campus partners will provide continued transition programming throughout Weeks 2-6 of your first semester.

With so many definitions of leadership, the Clemson Leader Framework provides a unified concept of what it means to be a Clemson Leader. A Clemson Leader is not one who holds a position but rather one who does leadership through the six Practices of Excellence.

Convocation is the first step in a student’s Clemson journey — expectations inside and outside the classroom are clearly established, the University’s culture is highlighted and success strategies are shared. As a bonus, students hear from varsity athletics coaches, receive free T-shirts and other giveaways — all while learning what it means to be a Clemson Tiger.

For 50 years, the First Friday Parade has symbolized the start of a new football season. Students, fans and alumni gather for the parade along Highway 93 on the Friday afternoon before the first home football game and celebrate Clemson behind the sounds of Tiger Band and performances from a variety of student organizations.

Homecoming is a great opportunity for alumni to return home to Clemson and meet up with old friends, classmates and enjoy the fun and excitement all over campus. Each year, the alumni association invites alumni back for various tailgates associated with clubs, groups and colleges.
