Mission & Vision

Our mission is to develop effective and engaged problem solving people grounded in the printing, packaging and visual communications fields in order to advance and strengthen businesses globally.
We strive to be the preeminent graphic communications program known for innovative educational experiences driven by strategic partnerships and applied research.

The numerous graphic communications industries encompass areas such as graphic design, distribution, technology, printing, packaging, marketing and web design/development. Think of each of the products you use every day, each of which were designed, marketed, printed, packaged, sold and delivered.

The Department of Graphic Communications’ philosophy centers on a unique concept of hands-on learning. Students experience the equipment, theories, and necessary problem solving found throughout the diverse industries.

Our graduates are very successful in a variety of professions within the realm of graphic communications. This is due to the department's outstanding faculty, curriculum, and the methods employed in our facilities. Each student is required to work two internships offering a wide range of experiences and the opportunity to build industry contacts for future employment.

As a student in Graphic Communications you will develop both technical and creative abilities through a comprehensive and dynamic curriculum to become a successful professional in a technology driven and dynamic multi-billion-dollar industry.

Treadaway 2016

11th Annual Treadaway Print Leadership Forum

Story by Paige Reckert.

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the 11th Annual Treadaway Print Leadership Forum followed by the 2016 Honors & Awards Banquet. What a wonderful opportunity it was.

At the Treadaway Leadership Forum, students within the Department of Graphic Communications were encouraged to attend one of three sessions as upwards of 200 students, faculty and industry professionals gathered at the Self Auditorium at the Stropm Thurmond Institute on Clemson University’s campus. A total of four speakers were on hand to present at this year’s Forum. The first to take the stage were two young entrepreneurs, Mr. Charles Frank and Mr. Andrew Hutcheson. Charles and Andrew are the founding members of a filmmaking collective called, Voyager Studios located in Brooklyn, New York. They specialize in documentary work and short form storytelling. What a treat it was to have these two young entrepreneurs speak to our students, faculty and industry gusts about what it takes to be exceptional..
