Staff Awards
Each year, the college recognizes its outstanding staff with five awards representing three categories: the Hattie B. Wagener Award, the CECAS Award for Staff Excellence, and the Dean's Exceptional Staff Award.

Hattie B. Wagener Award
Highest staff honor
The highest staff honor recognizing outstanding administrative staff within the College. Selected by a cross-college and city committee.
- Eligibility: Permanent, classified administrative employees with 1+ year of service. Previous winners ineligible.
- Award: $1000 stipend, personal plaque, and name on display in Riggs Hall.
Staff Excellence Award
Exemplary contributions
Recognizes classified employees for performance above expectations in leadership, research, and student success.
- Eligibility: Classified staff in position ≥ 1 year, successful EPMS, not receiving Dean’s Award same year.
- Criteria: Initiative, service improvements, process innovation, professionalism, and leadership.
- Award: $1000 stipend and plaque.
Dean’s Exceptional Staff Award
Outstanding dedication
Given to up to 3 staff (2 admin, 1 technical) for dedication beyond normal duties. Anonymous selection by a staff committee.
- Eligibility: Full-time FTE or TLP, 1+ year, not a recent recipient or committee member.
- Criteria: Specific examples of going above and beyond required.
- Award: $500 stipend and plaque.
