Next Steps for National Scholars Program Finalists
We’re excited by the possibility of meeting you at Scholarship Recruitment Weekend! This is what we need from you before you arrive.
Step 1. Confirm Your Attendance
Please complete and submit the registration form (using the link in the invitation email you received indicating your finalist status) whether or not you plan to attend Scholarship Recruitment Weekend.
Every year, some finalists have conflicts for the weekend dates. Finalists MUST participate in Scholarship Recruitment Weekend (February 13-14, 2026) to remain eligible for selection to the National Scholars Program. If you have a conflict, you must choose between attending Scholarship Recruitment Weekend and the other event.
Step 2. Confirm if your parent(s) or guardian(s) will be attending.
Parents or guardians may attend all Scholarship Recruitment Weekend activities (except the interviews and selection activities), including a campus tour, a welcome reception, opening and closing dinners, and meetings with academic departments.
There will also be parents-only Q&A sessions with parents of current National Scholars.
Step 3. Make your travel arrangements
The NSP provides (at no cost to you):
- Lodging: one room at the James F. Martin Inn, located on Clemson campus, for the finalist and up to two parents or guardians. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE INN – YOUR RESERVATION IS MADE ON YOUR BEHALF BY THE NSP.
- Group meals: dinner on February 13 and breakfast, lunch, and dinner on February 14 for the finalist and up to two parents or guardians.
If you plan to arrive earlier than February 13, depart later than the morning of February 15, or need additional rooms between February 13-14, please contact the James F. Martin Inn to make arrangements at 888-654-9020. Additional rooms or dates are subject to availability.
If you have questions about transportation or lodging, please feel free to contact Kris Fuller, Associate Director of the NSP, at kmfulle@clemson.edu or (864) 656-6160.
Nearest Airports
For those who are booking flights, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is the nearest international airport and is approximately 45 minutes from Clemson’s campus.
Other regional airports include: Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Both of these airports are located roughly 2.5 hours away from campus, but they may have additional and/or more desirable flight options.
Air travelers may want to consider purchasing travel insurance.
Step 4. Check your email
If you choose to attend Scholarship Recruitment Weekend, you will receive MANY emails before the event. It is very important that you check the email that you submitted in your application at least every other day.
Step 5. Contact us with questions!
