Clemson University provides access to a curated set of enterprise-level AI tools designed to support teaching, learning, research, creativity and administrative productivity. These tools are available within Clemson’s secure technology environment and have been reviewed to align with the University's data governance, privacy and security standards.
ChatGPT Edu: A Secure Environment for Learning
ChatGPT Edu provides access to advanced AI capabilities designed for teaching, learning, research, and productivity. Features available include:
- Advanced AI models for writing, analysis, coding and problem-solving
- File uploads (PDFs, documents, spreadsheets) for summarization, analysis and Q&A
- Data analysis tools for working with structured data and calculations
- Image understanding (upload images and ask questions about them)
- Custom GPTs — create and use tailored AI assistants for specific tasks or courses
- Projects and organization tools to manage related chats and files
- Enterprise-grade privacy and security, including controls and data protections

Clemson’s partnership with ChatGPT Edu ensures that all Clemson University information inputted into the system is secure and is not used to train other AI systems.
Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot Chat is an AI-powered productivity assistant built into Microsoft 365 that helps you get work done more efficiently through conversational AI. It includes:
- AI-powered chat — ask questions, brainstorm, summarize content, generate text, and get insights in natural language.
- Integration with Microsoft 365 apps — available across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and more, so users can ask Copilot to draft documents, analyze data, summarize emails and assist with presentations.
- File uploads and content understanding — upload files directly into Copilot Chat to explore, reference or extract insights from them.
- Enterprise-grade security and compliance — Copilot Chat uses Clemson’s Microsoft 365 security and compliance settings, and enterprise data protection features help keep your data safe.
- Accessible across devices — use Copilot Chat in the web app, desktop and mobile Copilot apps, or directly within Microsoft 365 applications.

Adobe Firefly
Generate images, videos, vector graphics; edit photos; and more with Adobe Firefly, Adobe’s generative AI-powered creative toolset designed to help users quickly turn ideas into high-quality visual content. With Firefly, you can:
- Generate original images from text descriptions
- Create and edit vector graphics
- Recolor and remix existing artwork
- Add, remove or replace objects in photos using generative fill
- Expand images beyond their original borders
- Generate text effects and stylized typography
- Create short video clips and enhance video content
- Produce audio and sound effects from prompts
- Quickly brainstorm creative concepts and design variations
Clemson users have access to standard generative AI features, which include 1,000 generative credits per month. Generative credits are like tokens you can use to generate high-quality image, vector, video and audio outputs in most Creative Cloud products, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Firefly.
Adobe Firefly does not train its generative AI models based on Creative Cloud or personal content.
AI Note Takers
The following AI note takers are approved for Public, Internal Use, Confidential and Restricted data types (such as PHI and FERPA) when used under Clemson’s approved configuration. Third Party meeting bots and integrations are not approved unless explicitly reviewed by the CheckIT technology approval process.
Zoom AI Companion
Capture, summarize and stay aligned with Zoom AI Companion, Zoom’s built-in AI assistant designed to enhance productivity and collaboration during meetings—all available within Clemson’s approved Zoom environment. AI Companion helps participants focus on the conversation by automatically organizing key information and surfacing important insights. With Zoom AI Companion, you can:
- Generate automated meeting summaries
- Capture key discussion points and decisions
- Identify action items and assign next steps
- Ask in-meeting questions about what was discussed
- Draft follow-up emails and messages based on meeting content
- Organize chat threads and highlight important messages
Zoom AI Companion processes meeting content within Zoom’s secure environment and does not use customer audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments, or other communications to train Zoom’s or third-party AI models.

Microsoft Copilot in Teams
Enhance collaboration and streamline teamwork with Microsoft Copilot in Teams, Microsoft’s AI-powered assistant integrated into Teams meetings, chats and channels—available within Clemson’s approved Microsoft 365 environment. Copilot helps users quickly understand conversations, track decisions and move work forward more efficiently. With Microsoft Copilot in Teams, you can:
- Generate real-time and post-meeting summaries
- Identify key decisions and action items
- Catch up on missed meetings or chat conversations
- Ask questions about meeting discussions or shared documents
- Draft messages and responses within chats and channels
- Summarize long chat threads for quick review
Microsoft Copilot in Teams operates within Clemson’s Microsoft 365 tenant and follows Microsoft’s enterprise data protection standards. User prompts and organizational data are not used to train the underlying large language models.
