Hi! My name is Hannah Slyce (she/her), and I will be a new lecturer of landscape architecture. I have a Master of Landscape Architecture from Clemson. Go Tigers! Though I also have a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from USC… Alas, the house divided. For the last few years, I have been working as an urban planner for the City of Greenville. My time at the city was split between working in urban design and sustainability. I’m very interested in sustainable design that serves to balance environmental restoration and the needs of the people who inhabit these spaces. I am also interested in community resilience and the utilization of the landscape to mitigate the challenges of the 21st century. Aside from my professional career, I play competitive roller derby and find any excuse to be on my skates. I have an unhealthy obsession with houseplants and have been trying to find balance in my life with yoga practice. I am very excited to be teaching and hope I can bring a greater appreciation to the landscape and a better understanding of what it means to design with nature.
