Innovate. Integrate. Impact.

Supporting Your Research Needs

CUBEInC isn't just a research facility—it's a catalyst for medical breakthroughs that save lives. Our mission is clear: accelerate the journey from laboratory bench to patient bedside by creating an ecosystem where high-impact medical technologies and devices can flourish.

What makes CUBEInC truly exceptional is our intentional integration of academics, patient care, and hands-on research and development under one roof. This unique convergence creates unparalleled opportunities for meaningful collaboration, resource sharing, and the kind of serendipitous connections that spark revolutionary medical advances. Here, focused research initiatives don't just improve healthcare delivery—they create new markets, attract investors, and generate opportunities that ripple throughout the entire biomedical industry.

We serve as the launching pad for visionary life science companies that drive intellectual capital, economic growth, and job creation throughout the Upstate of South Carolina.

Programs and Collaborations

Our facility transforms the traditional research model by placing innovators at the heart of clinical care.

Hawkins Foundation

The Steadman Hawkins Foundation operates a state-of-the-art surgical training and innovation laboratory at CUBEInC that serves as a critical hub for educating residents, fellows, and surgeons.

The facility provides commercial device manufacturers and distributors with an optimal environment for medical professional workshops and training courses, while collaborating closely with Clemson Bioengineering on cadaveric research and product development.

Sam Insignares originally came into college studying Biological Sciences on the pre-med track, but switched to bioengineering after attending a seminar on regenerative medicine.

Dam profile

“One unexpected opportunity at CUBEInC was observing both the Steadman Hawkins Surgical Training & Innovation Center and the Bioimaging Lab. In the Steadman Hawkins lab, I was able to watch orthopedic surgeries on cadavers and afterwards dissect one and look at human anatomy. This is an experience every bioengineer should have. In the Bioimaging Lab, I saw how cardiovascular sonographers take noninvasive diagnostic scans, providing me insight into the technology we have available in the medical field today.”
