Meet the Director


Cherese F. Fine

Cherese F. FineCherese F. Fine is the Program Coordinator in the Charles H. Houston Center for the Study of the Black Experience in Education. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing management and a master’s degree in sport administration from the University of New Mexico. She also earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership at Clemson University.

Dr. Fine’s research agenda focuses on the dynamics between intercollegiate athletics and higher education, as well as the academic and social experiences of underrepresented students on college campuses. Dr. Fine has worked in higher education in numerous areas that include academic affairs, student affairs, diversity, and athletics. At the center, she focuses on outreach programs and research centered on college access and readiness among African American students.
