The Roofing Alliance and Construction Science and Management Program at Clemson University have been working together on workforce development and coursework to promote careers in the roofing industry since 2018. As a result of these successful efforts, the Center for Roofing Innovation and Leadership was formed in 2024.
Founding
A grant from the Roofing Alliance to Clemson University’s Nieri Department of Construction and Real Estate Development allowed for the creation of the Center for Roofing Innovation and Leadership. The center is led by three construction science management faculty members: Associate Department Chair and Associate Professor Dhaval Gajjar, Associate Professor Jason Lucas, and Assistant Professor Vivek Sharma. An industry member-based steering committee assists with oversight and evaluation of Center’s initiatives to ensure they are serving the needs of the industry.
