One of the most abundant and recognizable species in the state, white-tailed deer are South Carolina's official state animal. Unfortunately, they are increasingly the greatest cause of wildlife damage in the state.
Causing tremendous harm to agriculture in the state, their predation of crops is estimated to cause millions of dollars of damage annually. In addition to their impacts on agriculture, they are increasingly impacting more urban environments through damage to property and vehicle collisions.
