The Graduate School houses support for Postdoctoral and Early Professional Scholars (formerly Postdoctoral Affairs), and we strive to understand the training and development environment needed to enhance the learning experience of our Postdoc and Early Professional Scholars (PEPS). Our mission is to support and enhance postdoctoral training and career development, to establish and build a sense of community among all PEPS, and to serve as a resource to the larger Clemson University community.

Meet our PEPSAbout PEPS Positions at Clemson
Postdoctoral and Early Professional Scholars (PEPS) at Clemson hold various roles that support both the university’s mission and their own professional development. These include Postdoctoral Research Fellows, who pursue advanced training under faculty mentorship, and Research Faculty, such as Research Associates and Research Assistant Professors. Depending on positions and funding, PEPS may hold special faculty ranks funded by external grants to lead or collaborate on major research initiatives. Others may be hired into temporary, grant-funded, or time-limited positions that align with specific projects and funding availability.
