How their research is transforming health care

Given my multidisciplinary background, my contribution on health research has integrated several collaborative efforts. From developing improved diagnostic algorithms for better access to healthcare among minority communities affected by Chagas disease, to field evaluations of novel intervention strategies for those who are at risk of vector infestation in their home. My work has also involved utilizing different surveillance strategies to better understand the ecological and wildlife transmission dynamics of vector-borne diseases, and the risk they pose on humans. My primary goal is to promote collaboration and impulse multidisciplinary One Health research to help develop sustainable approaches to protect humans, animals and the environment.
