Kim Pickett, PhD, FNP-BC, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, and a Faculty Associate in the Clemson Center for Research on Health Disparities. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner who also holds a specialized board certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. She maintains a clinical practice at a free clinic in the Spartanburg area, and precepts Clemson nurse practitioner students. Her research interests include rural health, management of chronic disease conditions (particularly Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes), health outcomes of interventions in underserved areas, and physical health assessment.

Kim Pickett works to transform health care through activities aimed at improving health outcomes for populations in rural areas, as well as identifying and reducing barriers to patient health care in underserved populations; improving patient outcomes through nurse practitioner education, and service to professional organizations.
