Michael D. Makowsky, Professor
Michael Makowsky's research spans law enforcement incentives, criminal justice finance, deterrence and political economy. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Legal Studies, the Journal of Human Resources and the Annual Review of Criminology, and he has produced influential policy work for organizations such as Arnold Ventures and the Brookings Institution. His scholarship has been widely cited in academic, policy, and media contexts, and he currently serves as an invited researcher with J-PAL, reflecting the applied and experimental orientation of his work.

Adam Soliman, Assistant Professor
Adam Soliman's research focuses on crime, health and public policy. His work has been published in journals including the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy and the Journal of Law and Economics. His current projects examine public safety, drug markets, education and juvenile justice, and policy evaluation, including several externally funded collaborations supported by Arnold Ventures.
