Sally Mauldin is a PhD student in the Digital History program at Clemson University. She is interested in public history as it relates to the US South, slavery, and oral histories.

She earned a Master’s in History in 2015 from Clemson University, where she completed a Master’s Thesis entitled, “Sons of Dear Old Clemson: An Examination of Clemson University’s Most Influential Founding Fathers,” which engaged university history with memory and historiographical studies.

She plans to pursue a dissertation that examines forgotten burial grounds on university campuses and the public’s memory of these spaces through archival records and oral histories. She is interested in making local history more accessible in a digital age.

A certified Project Management Professional, Sally is also employed by Clemson University and works on strategic operational initiatives. Additionally, she serves as a point of contact for the Woodland Cemetery and African American Burial Ground Historic Preservation Project.
