Chelsea Clarey teaches composition and literature classes centering on poetry and genre studies. The foundation of her pedagogy: undergraduate students are ready for literary theory, and in fact will be able to apply it across the curriculum for true multi-faceted learning, as long as it's presented accessibly. She delights in demonstrating this principle by connecting literature to her passions for historical clothing design, endangered poultry conservation, and the pickling of weird vegetables. Active in community education and extremely fond of farmer's markets, she can be found around the Upstate giving talks on local Southern herbalism and traditional techniques for fabric recycling.
