PEER & WISE Experience
WHEN: Summer 2026
Orientation: Sunday, June 28th at 5:00 pm (online) | PWE: Monday, June 29th through Friday, July 31st.
COST: $1,500
The transition to college—especially in engineering and STEM—can feel fast and demanding. The Clemson PEER WISE Experience (PWE) is designed to help you start your Clemson journey prepared, confident, and connected.
PWE is a for-credit, optional summer program that takes place over four weeks, with the first two weeks of class (online), and no class on July 4th. By the end of the program, you will have earned 3 hours of college credit and gained a clear roadmap for success in your first year.
PWE introduces you to the academic expectations and learning strategies you’ll need for key first-year courses, including:

- General Engineering
- Calculus
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Excel and technical tools
- College-level study and time-management skills
More than just coursework, PWE focuses on the how of being successful—how to study efficiently, how to manage demanding schedules, and how to approach challenges with confidence.
What Will I Be Doing?
You’ll learn alongside fellow incoming students in STEM while building relationships with upper-level Clemson students and graduate mentors. Through guided instruction, practice, and real examples, you’ll begin forming your Clemson support system before the semester even begins.
You’ll also gain early exposure to:
- Study strategies that actually work for STEM courses
- Academic and campus resources you’ll use throughout your degree
- Internship and professional development opportunities
- Habits that help you stay organized, focused, and on track
Why Should I Participate?
Because a strong start matters.
Students who participate in PWE enter the semester with clarity, confidence, and connections already in place. Instead of spending the first weeks figuring things out, you’ll begin the fall prepared and supported.
PWE is an investment in your first year—and your future at Clemson. We equip you with the skills, tools, and network to help you thrive from day one.
Start strong. Stay supported. Step into Clemson ready.
Qualifications: Our programming is open to all accepted incoming students in engineering majors. SAT and ACT scores are not required, but if you have taken them, you must have an ACT score of 27 or above or an SAT MATH score of 640 or above. If you did not take the ACT or SAT, you must have completed the Clemson Math Placement Test (CMPT) with a score of 65.
