The Center of Excellence for Innovation in Mathematics and Science was originally conceptualized and founded by Dr. Jeff Marshall with funding support through the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Through this center, faculty in the College of Education have collaborated with districts across the state to support PreK-12 mathematics and science education.

The mission of the Center of Excellence is to serve South Carolina schools and collaborate with stakeholders in the larger community to implement innovative and effective practices in mathematics and science education to better support children in developing the 21st Century skills and processes necessary to succeed.
