Programs we offer

Backyard Poultry

The Clemson Extension Livestock and Forages Team offers the Backyard Poultry Series around the state on a as needed basis. These workshops cover all aspects of sustainable backyard poultry production. This course will allow participants to gain knowledge in subject matter that include but are limited to improving production management, health of the flock, and egg/meat farm sales. This workshop is beneficial to beginners and experienced poultry producers.

Beef Cattle

Clemson Extension helps producers to focus on product evaluation, assists with performance testing, records management, improving marketing, control of parasites, and using proper management skills and techniques. Information is distributed through a number of techniques such as newsletters, production meetings, workshops and individual farm visits.

CAMM

Confined Animal Manure Managers Program

The Confined Animal Manure Managers (CAMM) program team consists of agents and specialists with Clemson University, the Clemson Extension Service, the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Equine

Whether it be a horse, donkey, mule, or pony, Clemson Extension offers programs to all equine owners and managers to improve the productivity and efficiency of their operations, as well as the health and well-being of their equine companions. Our agents hold workshops and assist producers throughout the state with pasture management, pasture weed control, nutrition, health and wellness, farm management and more.

Forages

The Clemson Extension Livestock and Forages team offers educational content and training in an array of topics related to forages systems through webinars, workshops, field days, written publications, and more. These programming activities cover establishment, management, profitability,and sustainability topics in forage systems and are offered throughout the state.

Small Ruminants

The Clemson Extension Livestock and Forages Team offers the Small Ruminant Workshop Series around the state on an as needed basis. These workshops cover all aspects of sustainable small ruminant production. This course will allow participants to gain knowledge in subject matter that include but are limited to improving production management, health of the herd, forage production, parasite management, marketing, dairy, and profitability. This workshop is beneficial to beginners and experienced small ruminant producers.
