Description

The Distance Education Advisory Board is a Shared Governance committee that focuses on the improvement in the quality of online programs and courses. This committee is a formalized connection between faculty and Clemson Online (CO). Clemson Online provides expertise and personalized faculty support to create and sustain unique learning opportunities and environments and seeks to further develop globally recognized, competitive, and innovative educational experiences. The Distance Education Advisory Board shall be composed of faculty representatives assigned by the colleges, Clemson Libraries, graduate student body, and undergraduate student body as voting members. The director, associate director(s), and executive assistant from CO shall serve as non-voting members and assist in the scheduling, facilitation, and dissemination of information from the advisory board meetings. The advisory board meetings will be open for attendance by other campus organizations on a non-voting basis. The purpose of the board is to discuss distance education policies and processes and to advise on future initiatives.

This committee is authorized by the Clemson University Committee on Committees. Changes to its description or composition should be initiated with the Faculty Senate Office.
