About

A WELCOME FROM THE DIRECTOR

Welcome to English Language Programs! My name is Jen Brondell and I am passionate about serving international scholars in the University setting through teaching academic English and US academic culture and providing opportunities for connections across language and culture differences. I have lived in Mexico, Brazil, and China and have been teaching English for almost 25 years. I am here for you, and because of you, and I hope to meet you soon.

OUR MISSION

We are committed to fostering greater communication and understanding across the diverse populations on our Campus and in our communities. We do this by providing scholars and staff the instruction and support programming they need to be successful in their personal, instructional and professional endeavors in terms of language and culture. We believe by collaborating with offices across campus we create an environment where everyone can thrive.

MEET THE TEAM

Farjana headshot

Farjana Easmin

Hello, I’m Farjana Easmin, a proud Bangladeshi who has completed her undergraduate journey at the Asian University for Women (AUW), on the other side of the world, and is now pursuing a major in Student Affairs at Clemson University’s Education Department. I also serve as a Student Assistant with English Language Programs, where I love helping create a space where language becomes a bridge—not a barrier—for students from all walks of life. Supporting others while growing in my own journey makes this role especially meaningful to me.

Hi, I’m Marie. I grew up in a small town in upstate New York. After university, I received an EFL certificate and moved overseas to teach English. I have been teaching for over 20 years now. While teaching, I also received have a MA in Intercultural studies. I have taught in Europe and all over Asia. In 2016, I returned to my hometown. Now I teach English to immigrants and international students as well as help them to navigate the difficult transition from their home countries to living in the United States. During my time overseas, there were many colleagues and friends that helped me to understand and navigate living in a foreign country. I want to give that same support to Clemson students.
