How their research is transforming health care
My research transforms healthcare by applying advanced operations management and analytical techniques to resolve systemic inefficiencies and improve access for underserved groups. By leveraging empirical data, I provide healthcare administrators with the tools to make more effective, evidence-based decisions.
For example, through my work with the Hollings Cancer Center, my coauthors and I developed a holistic analytics framework to evaluate each potential trial opportunity and streamline the trial selection process. In addition, the insights on within-day micro breaks from my work with the social enterprise can also be applied to healthcare settings to facilitate process design and help improve the productivity of healthcare workers. For healthcare organizations involved in fundraising or disaster relief, my work with food banks also provides valuable insights into effective resource allocation and resilience building.
