New in 2019 is the inaugural Clemson University Lowcountry Student Summit, set for Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston, South Carolina. An extension of the Clemson Men of Color National Summit, this day-long event is stocked with tools and resources for eighth- through 12th-grade students to plan for success after high school.

The Lowcountry Student Summit features motivational speakers and workshops designed to help students tap into their talents as well as develop academic and professional skills that prepare them for college and post-college careers. Students will learn about topics such as these:

  • Taking dual enrollment courses
  • Registering in apprenticeship programs
  • Preparing for career success
  • Applying to colleges
  • Taking tests such as SAT/ACT/WorkKeys
  • Completing the FAFSA
  • Submitting scholarship applications

The summit is open to lowcountry students, parents, guardians, educators and administrators.

Attendance is free and limited to the first 500 participants. We are now accepting walk-in registration. Registration ends when the event is full.
