Clemson University has been increasingly successful in securing competitive funding to support research and scholarship.

  • Annual competitive research awards have increased 36 percent the past seven years to $106 million in fiscal year 2019.
  • Annual proposal submissions were $594 million in fiscal year 2019, a high point for the last seven years.
  • Total R&D expenditures were $219 million in FY2019, up 44 percent since 2013.
