Get Started
The College of Architecture, Art and Construction includes a remarkable diversity of scholars in fields ranging from the highly technical to artistic, with combinations of both. Faculty and students in the College create new knowledge through research in many ways: the creative work of artists, designers and performers; and empirical studies in planning and construction science. Our research is characterized by original thought and communication of results through peer-reviewed outlets.
To further strengthen our research, the College makes various internal funding opportunities available throughout the academic year.
Centers and Institutes
CAAC is home to nine Centers and Institutes that serve as engines and showcases for research by our faculty, undergraduate and graduate students: Center for Health Facilities Design and Testing; Center for Visual Arts; Charles E. Daniel Center for Building Research and Urban Studies; Clemson Architecture Center in Barcelona; Clemson Architecture Center in Charleston; Institute for Intelligent Materials, Systems and Environments; Community Research and Design Center; Pennell Center; and the Lee Gallery.
