The online professional development course,Bee A Friend to Pollinators: Pollinator Education & Agricultural Literacy for SC Educators, provides participants with information about pollinators and plants that provide us with our favorite foods.  

Clemson Extension, Clemson Online, and the non-profit organization, The Bee Cause Project, partnered to provide K-12 educators and students an opportunity to learn about pollinators' critical role in food production and environmental stewardship. Instructional Designers at Clemson Online developed the course with educational content and curriculum provided by: Clemson Extension 4-H Youth Development, Horticulture, Natural Resources, The Bee Cause Project, and University of Georgia Extension.  

Bee A Friend to Pollinators: Pollinator Education & Agricultural Literacy for SC Educators, is the first externally certified course in Quality Matters™ for Clemson Online Extension programming.  This certification of quality ensures a well-designed course, aligned course objectives, and assessments that measure participant success. 

The online professional development course was also named the 2023 National Winner of the Search for Excellence in Commercial and Consumer Horticulture award at the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Annual Meeting in Des Moines, Iowa. This Award recognizes NACAA member(s) who developed and carried out an outstanding extension educational program in horticulture.  

Currently, South Carolina licensed K-12 educators will also earn twenty (20) renewal credits from the South Carolina Department of Education along with a digital badge. State of Georgia K-12 educators can receive 1 PLU along with a digital badge.
