Cultivating Communities

In this introductory horticulture course, community gardeners will learn the necessary knowledge and skills to create and sustain a successful garden.  Each activity presented in the course leads to actionable steps to creating and sustaining a successful community-based garden. Upon completion of this course, participants will receive an interactive digital badge issued from Clemson Online.

Participants will receive:

  • Copy of the Seasonal Planting Guide & Calendar for South Carolina School & Community Gardens;
  • Pest identification Guide or Manual (TBD by instructor);
  • Clemson Extension soil analysis ($6 value);
  • Rain gauge or Garden Thermometer (TBD by instructor)
  • Additional items may be included upon availability.

If you have been selected to participate in a grant-funded cohort of this course, please do not sign up here. You will receive an invitation from the course instructors with details on how to access the appropriate cohort.
