2019 Fall Family Weekend

Clemson University Fall Family Weekend is an annual tradition!

We hope you are planning to join us for 2019 Fall Family Weekend on September 20-22. This weekend combines a variety of social and educational opportunities throughout campus. Some of the things you will see at Family Weekend are tailgating before the Clemson Tigers vs. UNC Charlotte 49ers football game, open houses, drop-ins, educational sessions, full family photo ops and much, much more. This weekend has something for everyone!

Fall Family Weekend has two separate registration processes.

  • If you are planning to attend the football game, you may purchase tickets directly through Clemson Athletics or through an authorized vendor such as Stub Hub. More information about purchasing tickets through Athletics is stated below, in the section "Clemson Tigers Football".
  • There will also be many events taking place on campus and the surrounding area throughout the weekend. If you are planning to visit the Clemson campus for Fall Family Weekend, be sure and take a look at our schedule of events for Friday as you make your travel plans. There will be multiple events beginning mid-day on Friday, including events hosted by the academic colleges at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Events for the weekend will end by late afternoon on Sunday.
  • REMINDER:  Request for a refund of purchased tickets may be made before 4:00 p.m. EDT on September 12, 2019. No refunds will be processed after this time.
  • The online registration program is now closed. NOTE: Tickets for the Saturday Tiger Tailgate and Sunday Farewell Brunch will be available during general check-in on Friday. Details below.

Family Weekend Schedule

To access more information about the Fall Family Weekend schedule, please download the Clemson Events app. Visit the app store for your smartphone or find it here. Then search Clemson Families Guide 2019 and download the guide. CLICK HERE to view-only a web version of the Clemson Families Guide.

We recommend that families arrive on campus by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, in order to participate in as many of the weekend events as possible.

Clemson Tigers Football

Join fellow fans on Saturday, September 21 in Memorial Stadium to cheer the Clemson Tigers against UNC Charlotte 49ers. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

    • You can reach the ticket office online at www.clemsontigers.com.

    • You can also call the ticket office at 800-CLEMSON.

You may want to consider authorized third-party vendors for purchasing tickets, such as Stub Hub. Click here to access the Stub Hub page with Clemson football ticket info.

Q&A: Should you buy a football game ticket for your student? Students will receive information in their Clemson email regarding how to obtain their tickets to football games. Reminder - student tickets are for seats in a designated student section; they will not be able to sit with you. If you want your student to sit with you during the game, you will need to buy them a ticket. Some families choose to buy an extra ticket for their student; other families learn that their student would prefer to sit with their friends in the student section.

  • Online registration for Family Weekend events is closed. Tickets for open events will be sold during general check-in on Friday; more information below.

  • No refunds will be processed after 4:00 p.m. (EDT) September 12, 2019.
  • General check-in is Friday, September 20 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the David Peebles room (second floor) in Hendrix Student Center.

  • We encourage your student to stop by and check in for the family.
  • We will sell a limited number of merchandise and tickets to the open events which require a ticket/fee:
    • Tiger Tailgate on Saturday
    • Farewell Brunch on Sunday
    • T-shirts
    • Parent Fan Pack
    • We can accept payment by Mastercard, Visa and Discover only.
    • All other events and merchandise are sold out and no further tickets will be available.
  • You do not need to print any tickets to the Family Weekend events. We will provide all tickets and items you have purchased to you at the check-in locations during Family Weekend.

  • Reminder: Each person attending a ticketed event, including your student, will need a ticket.
  • There will be check-in stations at each of the main events:

    • Tiger Tailgate on Saturday in Cox Plaza (rain location - Fike Recreation Center)
    • Brunch on Sunday in the Hendrix Student Center
  • A pre-arrival email will be sent to you prior to the weekend confirming check-in details and locations.

  • Additional hotel information may be found on the Clemson University website, Visitor Center's info-Area Accommodations.

  • We encourage you to take a look at the nearby towns and cities to Clemson for lodging. Also, you may want to consider home-share options or a house/rental on Lake Hartwell; both options are popular among our visitors.

  • We secured special Family Weekend rates at select hotels in Greenville, South Carolina. These rates will be available through August 21 or until sold out. If you are planning to bring a vehicle, please check with the individual hotel for their parking policies and fees. Click on each hotel link to access the reservation form.

  • The bus will depart/return from each of the Family Weekend hotels - the Hyatt Regency of Greenville and the Hilton Greenville.

  • You do not need to be a guest of the hotel to purchase a seat on the shuttle bus. Parking for a fee will be available in the area and directly at the Hyatt Regency. NOTE - there is no parking for non-guests at the Hilton Hotel.

There will be parking provided for our Family Weekend participants for the Friday and Sunday of the weekend, although we cannot guarantee proximity to the events. Take a look at Campus Maps to learn more about the locations of the parking lots.  REMINDER - meters are operational during the weekend; check the pay stations to confirm hours and fees.

  • FRIDAY: Parking will be provided in Lot C-1. A shuttle bus is available to transport you from this parking lot to the Hendrix Student Center from 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • FRIDAY: Parking is also available in Lots C-4, C-5 and C-12. No shuttle transportation is provided.
  • GAME-DAY SATURDAY: You will need to follow the parking guidelines provided by Athletics. Much of campus is reserved parking and not open to the general public.

  • DOES MY STUDENT NEED A TICKET? Yes. Each person attending a Family Weekend ticketed event, including your Clemson student, will need a ticket.

  • WHAT IF I HAVE SPECIFIC DIETARY NEEDS? When you register for Family Weekend events, there will be a section where you can indicate any dietary needs.

  • WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR SOMEONE WITH MOBILITY RESTRICTIONS? The university recognizes a state-issued disability placard that is awarded to a person with mobility issues. On Friday and Sunday of the weekend, you should be able to find a disability parking space; these spaces are found in multiple locations around campus. On game day, there are special accommodations for patrons with a valid disability parking pass that also include a shuttle to and from the Memorial Stadium area.

  • WHAT IF THERE IS INCLEMENT WEATHER? Family Weekend events will take place, except in the most severe weather conditions. In the event of rain, all activities will proceed as scheduled; we will advise if there is an alternate location. In the event of severe weather (such as lightning), the Office of Student Transitions and Family Programs together with Clemson University and the Athletic Department may elect to delay or cancel any part of Family Weekend at any time. Due to the nature of event planning we will not offer any refunds, in full or in part, to any participant for cancellations due to weather. Should there be changes in the schedule, the 2019 Clemson Families Guide will be updated for you.
