New Faculty Onboarding

Your First Year at Clemson University

Faculty Affairs within the Office of the Provost hosts the New Faculty Orientation event once each year in late August. However, we realize that our colleges hire and onboard academic talent throughout the year. We hope that you will be able to attend the New Faculty Orientation event as each annual event is open to anyone hired since the last New Faculty Orientation event. Even if you are not able to attend that specific event, there are many new faculty resources available to you. Several are described below.

After accepting the offer letter Clemson University has extended to you, you will receive

  1. Information from Faculty Affairs within the Office of the Provost
    1. Initial Stages Communications
    2. New Faculty Orientation event information
    3. Communication related to Faculty Forward Programming that new faculty members are specifically encouraged to consider participating in
  2. Information from the Department/School and College where your faculty appointment is
  3. Information from Clemson’s Office of Human Resources. The Office of Human Resources offers a “New Faculty and Orientation” opportunity at multiple times of the year as an in-person or online session. The Office of Human Resources session is comprised of different content than what is provided by Faculty Affairs within the Office of the Provost.
