What is InfoEd?

InfoEd is a new tool that will remove the paper or word document application form submission process and replace it with an electronic submission process.

When do I need to submit for research approval using InfoEd?

All requests to do research must be submitted using InfoEd now.

What do I do if my Continuing Review or Progress Report was submitted using the old process?

  • IBC  - If the protocol was submitted using the old paper forms, you will continue using the paper process until it expires.
  • IRB -  If the protocol was submitted using the old word document forms, you will use the new electronic InfoEd process.
  • IACUC - If the protocol was submitted using the old paper forms, you will continue using the paper process until it expires.

How do I file an amendment if I submitte a protocol using the old paper process?

  • IBC  - If the protocol was submitted using the old paper forms, you will continue using the paper amendment process until it expires.
  • IRB -  If the protocol was submitted using the old word document forms, you will use the new electronic InfoEd Amendment process.
  • IACUC - If the protocol was submitted using the old paper forms, you will continue using the paper process until it expires. However, these old paper protocols are currently being converted into electronic InfoEd versions. You will be notified when this happens. When it does, all future amendments will be submitted using InfoEd.

Will I still have access to the paper or word document forms?

  • IBC - The paper forms are no longer available.
  • IRB - All Word version of the application forms will be removed after the new IRB InfoEd module goes live. The informed consent templates will still be available on the forms page for download.
  • IACUC - The paper forms will be available for a few weeks then removed in favor of the new system.
