Policies and Guidelines

Through administrative mandates or Board-approved policy, Clemson has developed certain rules in the marketing and communications arena.

Use of University logos, wordmark and other graphic symbols (including website design standards) is governed by Board policy and administered by Creative Services. (See the Guarding the Brand.)

Official University Social Media sites are governed by the Social Media Policy and are overseen by University Relations.

Commercial products bearing logos and symbols must be licensed under the Collegiate licensing program.

All administrative bulk mailings go through Mail Smart.

Official contact with news media — via release, phone call or news conference — should be initiated only through Media Relations, CAFLS/PSA/Extension Communications Team or Athletic Communications.

Crisis and emergency communications are governed by crisis management and emergency/disaster management plans.
