Eddy Troy specializes in global Francophone literature and cinema, continental philosophy, and literary modernism. His current research project involves the intersection of cinema and philosophical understandings of objects in an attempt to analyze “thing cinema” in its relation to ethics and intersubjectivity in film. His dissertation, Phenomenal Screens: Thinking Crisis through Film and Literature, addresses the phenomenological role of media and includes chapters on Émile Zola, James Joyce, and Krzysztof Kie?lowski.
