Megha Khanna is a first year PhD student and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Clemson University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of History, Gender, and Sexuality, intricately interwoven with the fabric of society and culture. She explores the dynamics of a community of women who transitioned from being celebrated courtesans or skilled performers to becoming sex workers with the advent of British Colonialism in India, explicitly focusing on 1857.
