Daniel Fram, Ph.D., is a Lyceum Faculty Scholar. Previously, he has served as a visiting assistant professor at Middlebury College and as a postdoctoral fellow in the Program on Constitutional Government at Harvard University. He earned a bachelor's degree in the Great Books program at St. John's College in Santa Fe, a master's in curriculum and instruction from the University of Mississippi, a master's in political science from Boston College, and a doctorate in political science from Michigan State University.

Fram's research interests include contemporary political theory and the history of ancient and modern political thought. His anticipated book, "The Lost Country of Liberalism" (pending approval from the board of syndics at Cambridge University Press), explains how changes in social contract theory from Locke to Rawls have contributed to the recent outbreak of nationalist challenges to liberalism. His articles have appeared in History of Political Thought and American Political Thought. Fram has also presented work at numerous regional and national conferences, and his latest papers explore the relationship between rhetoric and politics in the works of Aristotle and Plato.
