Our subject matter experts in the areas of financial policies, procedures, compliance and transactions provide best-in-class administrative services to Clemson University’s faculty and staff. In partnership with stakeholders across campus, we provide service-oriented support, enable the mitigation of financial risk and identify resource allocation opportunities.
Our Services
Cherwell is the service management system our office uses to manage customer needs with our services listed below.
- Travel and Expense Management: Concur is the system Clemson University employs for travel and expense management. FSS provides guidance related to travel and expense policy and procedure, and is the liaison for P-cardholders.
- Purchasing: FSS assists with new purchase order requests, existing purchase order changes and provides guidance related to proper procurement procedures utilizing BuyWays.
- Accounts Receivable: PeopleSoft Financials is the tool Clemson uses to support accounts receivable efforts across the University.
- Budget Maintenance: Adaptive Planning by Workday is the budgeting tool we use to align our budgets with the University’s strategic plan. FSS manages the budget maintenance efforts for our customers.
- Reporting: FSS can assist in your reporting needs, utilizing data from systems like Data Warehouse, PeopleSoft, Concur and Adaptive Planning.
- Journal Entry: FSS can amend posted financial transactions with journal entries and payroll corrections.
- Supplier Payments: FSS processes payments to external suppliers utilizing BuyWays and PeopleSoft. We also process interdepartmental orders to internal suppliers.
Upcoming Changes
We will be moving to a new workflow system, ServiceNow, for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, submissions will continue to be processed through the Cherwell system.
