PGA Head Professional Brent Jessup
Brent Jessup has served as the head golf professional at the Walker Course since March 1999. Prior to his arrival in Clemson, he served as the head professional and director of golf at both Catawba Country Club and Tanglewood Park Golf Courses, in North Carolina. An active Class A member of the PGA of America since 1986, Brent has served as a member of the Carolinas PGA Section board of directors, is a certified PING Golf Clubfitter and an accomplished golf instructor.
Superintendent Don Garrett CGCS
Don Garrett has been the Walker Course superintendent since 1999 and is a 1985 graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in horticulture. Prior to working here, he was the director of golf and landscape maintenance at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C. from 1990- 1999 and was at Kiawah Island Resort from 1986-1990. Don has been a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America since 1987 and earned the designation of Certified Golf Course Superintendent in 1995. He is also a past president of the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association (1998). Don is as an Adjunct Instructor and Academic Advisor with the Clemson Turfgrass program in the College of Agriculture and serves the advisor to the Clemson Turfgrass Club.

Do you have to be a Clemson University alumnus to play at the Walker Course?
No. You do not have to be affiliated with Clemson in any way to play golf at the Walker Course.

Is the Walker Course a private club?
No. The Walker Course is a public golf facility. We do, however, offer a variety of membership levels if you are interested in a permanent golf home.

What is the tee time policy?
Tee times are required at all times. General public tee times can be reserved up to seven days in advance by calling the golf shop. Walker Course members can reserve tee times up to 14 days in advance. Guests of the James F. Martin Inn can reserve tee times through the hotel concierge when they receive their hotel reservation confirmation.

Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes. Gift certificates are available for any amount. All certificates carry a one-year expiration date. We are happy to assist phone purchases via a credit card charge.

Does the Walker Course allow personal beverage coolers?
No. Personal beverage coolers are not allowed at the Walker Course. Full-service beverage carts operate daily on the course.

Are rental clubs available?
Yes. The Walker Course carries an inventory of PING rental sets for both right- and left-handed golfers.

Do IPTAY members receive a discount at the Walker Course?
No. Currently, IPTAY members do not receive a discount at the Walker Course.
