Schedule Building Timeline

The timeline is intended to provide a framework for successful schedule building for academic departments. Utilize the related links and contact information should you need to reference other pertinent material or have questions regarding any aspect of the schedule building process.

Spring 2026 Schedule Building

July 21 - August 8 (M-F) — Scheduling Compliance Reviews

  • College meetings with Scheduling Team to discuss schedule building updates and compliance issues.
  • College Coordinators work with their Scheduling Team Liaison* to review the Scheduling Compliance Dashboard for their departments from the prior Spring term and discuss any issues or concerns.

September 2 (T) — Scheduling Building begins for Spring 2026

Note: An email will be sent when the schedule roll process is complete and edits can begin.
  • The PILOT Priority Room Scheduling process for university classrooms may begin. Only specific university classrooms on the approved college/department list may be scheduled during this time. If your department is uncertain which university classrooms are allowed for your use, please email Academic Scheduling.
  • Run and Review Schedule Edit Reports throughout the schedule building process to correct any errors along the way.
  • 100+ Capacity Courses – determine which sections will need a 100+ capacity room and be sure to have those capacities set correctly in Banner before the deadline of September 12 along with all meeting pattern and instructor information.
  • Include orientation first-year/transfer students in your Maximum Capacity, if appropriate, for Spring 2026 Orientation. The Projected and the Maximum Capacity fields should match.
  • If you require ADA accommodation, please first submit a Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form to the Office of Access Compliance and Education. Attach and send the approval to Academic Scheduling.
  • Please Note: Watt Center rooms are requested through the Watt Center Request Form by their stated deadline. The process for reserving the Watt has not changed.

September 4 (Thu) — Advising PINs Assigned

  • PINs are required for iROAR registration.
  • PINs are provided to students during advising appointments.
  • Registration Services is not authorized to provide PINs to students.

September 12 (F) — Deadline for 100+ Capacity Sections

  • Departments must have final Maximum Capacity set on all sections expecting enrollment of 100+.

September 15 (M) —  Room Scheduling Process for Sections of 100+ Capacity ONLY Begins

  • Do NOT make any changes to sections with a maximum capacity of 100+ in Banner during this time. An email will be sent when processes have been completed (1-2 days) and edits to 100+ capacity sections may resume.
  • Edits may continue on sections with a maximum capacity of less than 100.

October 10 (F) — Schedule Building and Priority Room Scheduling Ends

  • Departments should have finished building and reviewing all course sections offered for the term. This includes assigning any sections using their authorized university classrooms, assigning a department owned room, if applicable, and/or assigning any sections that do not need a room (NO ROOM) or are online (ONLINE COURSE).

October 13 (M) — Mass Room Scheduling Processes Begin for Spring 2026

  • DO NOT make changes to sections in Banner.
  • Data Pull from Banner to 25Live Occurs.
  • Mass Rooming begins for all remaining sections without a room in Banner.
  • Reminder: No academic events or meetings for Spring 2026 should be created in 25Live until final exam week of Fall 2025.

October 15 (W) — Course Seat Request Tool Opens for Continuing Students

  • Tool for requesting a seat in a closed course or seeking an override for an error preventing registration.

October 27 (M) — Spring 2026 Mass Room Scheduling Processes Complete

  • Edits to sections in Banner may resume.

October 29 (W) — Registration Time Tickets are Assigned

  • Students can find their specific time ticket window in their iROAR student account and the Advising Student Profile.

October 30 (Thu) @ noon — Orientation Seat Reservations

  • Deadline to remove first-year and transfer student seats from maximum capacity (SSASECT) for Spring 2026 sections with orientation reserves. Keep the maximum total in the Projected field. Email questions to Kelly Barnes McDavid.

November 5 - November 14 (W-F) — Registration for Spring 2026*

December 8 - December 12 (M-F) — Review and Decision made on PILOT Priority Scheduling processes

Summer/Fall 2026 Schedule Building

January 5 - January 16 (M-F) — Scheduling Compliance Reviews

  • College meetings with Scheduling Team to discuss schedule building updates and compliance issues.

January 20 (T) — Scheduling Building begins for Summer/Fall 2026
