The Division’s Office of Sponsored Programs serves as the university’s central pre-award office, helping faculty navigate the proposal submission process.

The Office of Sponsored Programs provides the appropriate review, negotiation and signature for non-disclosure, material transfer, and data use agreements with sponsors.
The Clemson University Research Foundation works to connect the University to external opportunities for research collaboration with the intent of creating a sustainable model for collaborative industry sponsored research feeding back into the university research enterprise.
The Dominion Energy Innovation Center houses the Duke Energy eGRID, an electrical grid simulator, and the world’s most-advanced wind-turbine drivetrain testing facility capable of full-scale, highly accelerated mechanical and electrical testing of advanced drivetrain systems for wind turbines.
The Office of Research Safety provides expertise in chemical, radiological, biological, hazardous waste management, and hazardous materials shipping/transportation.
The office also coordinates and provides a broad range of training programs to assist in working safely and meeting training compliance requirements.
The Office of Research Compliance administers federally-mandated programs to ensure enterprise-wide compliance with regulations and policies that promote ethical conduct in research involving vertebrate animals, recombinant DNA, hazardous materials, and human subjects.
The office provides expert advice and customer service with a focus on facilitating research, education and service activities. The office also handles research misconduct reports and offers Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training which provides RCR credits required by federal funding agencies.
Federal regulations restrict overseas shipping, transmission or transfer of certain categories of information, technologies and items to protect research integrity.
The office of Export Compliance and Research Security can help faculty navigate complex federal policies and regulations in order to manage successful international research engagements and activities.
Guidance for Managing International Relationships and Activities
The Conflict of Interest office oversees the University’s required conflict-of-interest training program to help faculty and staff engage in appropriate outside relationships. The office is part of Clemson Human Resources and works closely with the Division of Research.
