Bloomberg Terminals and Certification
Getting Started
Book "Intro to Trading Room and Bloomberg Terminals"
This meeting is an introductory meeting to learn about getting started with the Bloomberg Terminal and the Bloomberg certification. It will be hosted by a student trading room worker who is Bloomberg-certified.
- Navigate to the Trading Room Booking page.
- Select "Intro to Trading Room and Bloomberg Terminals."
- Select the date and time you would like to meet.
- Provide your personal details (name, Clemson email and CUID).
- Select "Book" to secure your reservation.
Your reservation details will be sent to the Clemson email address you provided. If your schedule changes and you can no longer make your reservation, please cancel or reschedule your booking so our team can plan accordingly and others can sign up.
Creating a Bloomberg log-in and signing up for a Bloomberg certification
- Opening Bloomberg: You must be at the Bloomberg Terminal in the Trading Room.
- Select the "Create New Log-in" option towards the bottom, below username and password.
- Follow the directions to set up the account.
- First name, last name,
- The username will be created for you.
- Enter the mobile number for both the mobile and company numbers.
- Please use your Clemson email address in the "Corporate Email Address" area; don't use a personal email address.
- Bloomberg will ask you to verify your account via text message, phone call or email. The text message option is the quickest way.
- Once you verify your account, you will be asked to create a password.
- Follow the instructions to create your password.
- Once a username and password are created, you will then be asked to sign in to your Bloomberg account.
Signing up for a Bloomberg certification (requires an existing Bloomberg account)
- Using a Bloomberg Terminal in the Trading Room, log in to Bloomberg using your Bloomberg username and password.
- Type "BCER" then enter (the green enter button on keyboard) in the blue box at the top of the Bloomberg page.
- Click "Sign-up."
- Select "I'm a learner."
- Read through and accept their terms and conditions.
- Select yes or no to receive Bloomberg alerts.
- You will now be directed to a web browser with your Bloomberg for Education account.
- Click "Certificates" at the top, then click "Bloomberg BMC" to go to the certification modules.
Reserve a Bloomberg Terminal
- Navigate to the Trading Room Booking page.
- Select the time allotment you'd like to reserve; default times are 30 minutes and 60 minutes.
- Select the terminal you would like to use.
- Select the date and time you would like to reserve the terminal.
- Provide your personal details (name, Clemson email and CUID).
- Select "Book" to secure your reservation.
Your reservation details will be sent to the Clemson email address you provided. If your schedule changes and you can no longer make your reservation, please cancel or reschedule your booking so others can use that terminal.
Bloomberg Unlocked: Jump in, explore, and build your edge
This event will provide participants with an abbreviated introduction to foundational skills. These 90-minute seminars will cover: account creation, certification registration, building a Bloomberg launch pad, a market overview and Bloomberg Terminal navigation.
