Take charge of your professional development by engaging in an array of events, certifications and workshops available with MBA+.

Companies expect a high level of business acumen and innovative thinking at every level of the workplace. The Clemson MBA Program offers multiple opportunities each year for students to enhance their education with market-oriented professional development resources. During the Fall semester, technology training is available, including workshops in Microsoft Excel®, Adobe Creative Suite® and Google Analytics. In the spring, students have access to career services workshops ranging from mock interviews to resume review.

Innovative Leadership Series

Linking proven innovation economy leaders to Clemson MBA students and the Upstate business community, the Innovative Leadership Series features business leaders from South Carolina and across the country who cover topics related to innovation, leadership, analytics, technology and entrepreneurship. Events are free and open to the public, occurring twice per academic semester at lunchtime on Fridays to kick off residency weekends for working professional MBAe and MBAba student cohorts.

Certificates

Clemson MBA students have access to certificate programs developed for today's business market to enhance their professional credentials. In some cases, current MBA students may be eligible for preferred registration; be sure to identify yourself as a current MBA student when you sign up.

  • Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate

    The Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate is available to graduate students in
    engineering and science disciplines across campus. The certificate is intended to serve
    students who:

    • envision an entrepreneurial career as their long-range career goal,
    • want to be involved in new products and business activities within a corporate setting,
    • seek a better understanding of the process of commercializing inventions.

    Requirements:

    • 6 credit hours of required MBA/MGT courses
    • 3 credit hours of student-selected, graduate-level elective course
    • A 3.0 cumulative GPA average in all 9 credit hours

    To qualify for a Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate, you must complete 3 preapproved courses (9 credit hours total). Two of the three courses must come from the first list of pre-approved MBA/MGT offerings. The last 3 credit hours can be selected by the student, with the guidance of their department advisor and the approval of the Spiro Institute. The elective course must be at the graduate level and relevant to the overall purpose of the certificate (as stated above).

    1. Select two from the following required MBA/MGT courses (6 credit hours):
      • MBA 8450 Technology and Innovation Management
      • MBA 8750 Enterprise Development
      • MBA 8990 Creativity OR MBA 899 Advanced Leadership
      • MGT 8690 Project Management
    2. Declare an approved elective course (3 credit hours). An example of such a course could be (but is not limited to):
      • BIOE 8130 Industrial Bioengineering
      • BIOE 8140 Medical Device Commercialization
      • BIOE 8150 Design, Manufacturing and Validation Methods for Reusable Medical
        Devices
