The Clemson Cooperative Extension Water Resources Team consists of Extension Specialists, Associates and Agents from around the state working together to address water quantity and water quality issues in South Carolina and beyond. The Water Resources Extension Team provides research-based information in the form of community outreach and education, public involvement opportunities and in-depth trainings and workshops to the citizens of South Carolina. The common goal of these diverse array of services it to foster stewardship and sustainable management of water resources for current and future generations.

Dam Ownership in South Carolina

Dam Ownership in South Carolina teaches the concepts every dam owner or operator should know to ensure dam integrity and pond use rather than becoming a nuisance, or worse - a safety risk! This online course will teach South Carolina dam owners the basics of dam design, inspection, and maintenance techniques, how to develop a dam repair plan, and is designed for owners of both unregulated dams and dams regulated by the SC DHEC Dam Safety Program.

Master Rain Gardener is a certification program focused on rain garden and rainwater harvesting system design and installation. The Master Rain Gardener (MRG) program will provide design standards and the knowledge-based skill set necessary to install rain gardens and rainwater harvesting systems on a residential scale. Rain gardens and rainwater harvesting offer residents and landscape professionals a management tool for flooding on property, erosion prevention, incorporation of native plants and backyard habitat into the lawn, and the establishment of a low-irrigation landscape.
