Introducing a new learning option with Clemson University Fall Scholars!
Ready to build your college portfolio, learn something new, or explore an area that you’ve never had an opportunity to before? Clemson University is offering a unique virtual program designed to help high school students develop the skills necessary to pursue their passion. This is a great time to explore careers that interest you—especially if your school doesn't offer these types of career exploration courses.
We have 3 exceptional courses this fall!
Would you like to be on the path with surgeons, physicians, and researchers all working in concert to cure human suffering? If so, design your own Molecular Toobox!
Or is solving crimes your passion? Check out CSI and Forensics Science!
Or maybe it's Nursing and Health Promotion, well, we have that too!
For Fall 2020, each session we offer uses a hybrid model of both synchronous and asynchronous learning.
Synchronous courses resemble a more traditional coursework model, in which students “attend” a course and instructor teaches in real-time, utilizing Zoom. All students are logged in at the same time to view the lecture and to actively participate in the discussion through chat and speaking. Synchronous courses allow students to respond or ask questions in the moment, change the discussion, engage with other students and their instructors directly, and participate more immediately in a learning community.
Asynchronous courses take a more non-traditional approach. Students do not “attend” class at a set time, but rather, access digital curriculum materials at a time of their own choosing prior to the course.
Fall Scholars will meet through Zoom on two consecutive Saturdays:
Fall Session B (November 7th and November 14th)

Join us for an exciting week filled with learning, friendship, and the Clemson experience. Educational, recreational, and cultural activities allow participants to experience some of the amazing opportunities Clemson University has to offer. Students will engage in hands-on, immersive courses in their field of choice taught by Clemson instructors during the day. Afternoons include free time which can be spent exploring campus, attending a campus tour, or meeting a representative from Admissions or Calhoun Honors College. Evenings feature many of the recreational activities Clemson students enjoy, including bowling at The Underground, swimming at Fike Recreation Center, and a cookout on the beach at beautiful Lake Hartwell. Participants stay in a residence hall and eat meals in a dining hall throughout the week to complete their on-campus experience. Current Clemson students serve as counselors to guide, mentor, and answer questions about life as a Tiger.
