Choosing an AI tool for Clemson work starts with understanding the data involved. Before using any AI service, users should identify the classification of the data and confirm whether that type of information is allowed in the specific tool. This non-exhaustive list is designed to help faculty, staff and other Clemson users pair the right data with the right AI tool.

Approved for University Data? Some form of enterprise contract is in place and use within the University Data Guidance is permissible without CheckIT individual review, subject to change.
University Data Guidance Describes which level(s) of data per the University Data Classification Policy are allowable within the AI solution, if applicable.
CheckIT Needed Per Use Case? Status of whether or not an individual user must submit a CheckIT form PRIOR to use of the solution.
