I've been accepted! What next?

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Clemson MBA Program! This enrollment guide provides detailed information and next steps to confirm your spot in the program and complete the enrollment process.

  • High Priority

    Accept Admissions Offer (timely)
    To accept your admission offer, access Clemson's Application Portal and select "Manage Your Account," then follow the instructions on that page.

    Activate Your Clemson Username and Password (timely)
    3-5 days after you accept your offer of admission you will receive an email from the Graduate School with instructions on accessing your Clemson username and password. Follow the instructions as soon as you receive the email.

    To activate your Clemson University Username:

    IMPORTANT: Once you have completed steps 1 - 4, completely CLOSE YOUR BROWSER and open a new session before continuing to email set-up.

    Set Up Clemson Email (timely)
    Clemson email addresses are in the format <>. In partnership with Google, Clemson offers students Google Apps for Education accounts. This account has already been created with your Clemson username: all you need to do is set up your account and password.

    Pay Enrollment Fee
    All degree-seeking Clemson MBA students are required to pay a $500 enrollment fee. This fee will secure a seat in the program for you and cover MBA Student Association activities, dues and events. This fee is not included in your tuition charges, nor does the tuition you pay cover the MBA enrollment fee. Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), postal money orders, or bank checks are accepted. If you choose to pay with a check, please make your check payable to "Clemson University." If you would like to pay via credit card, please click here. A receipt will be sent to you via email. The enrollment fee is due at the time you accept your seat in the program. This enrollment fee is non-refundable.

    Check Your Residency Status
    Please check your Residency Status in iRoar as soon as possible. The Residency Application can be found online here. If you are listed as "In Question," or if you are incorrectly marked "Out-of-State," you will need to complete an application. If you feel that you have been listed incorrectly, you WILL need to contact the Residency Office. Visit their website for more information:
    NOTE: It is important to complete the residency application as soon as possible if you are required to do so. This process can take up to six weeks to complete.

    Provide Legal Presence Documentation
    At your convenience, please email Carson Watts with a copy or photo of one of the following acceptable documents and she will update your status with the university.

    Acceptable Documentation
    U.S. Citizens - the following documents will be accepted as proof of U.S. citizenship:

    • South Carolina Driver's License first issued after January 1, 2002 (and date of birth after 1/1/1987)
      • It must be a South Carolina license. If you do not have an S.C. license, please email one of the remaining acceptable items below.
    • U.S. Passport (even if expired)
    • U.S. or U.S. Territory Birth Certificate
    • Certificate of Naturalization
    • U.S. Government-issued Consular Report of Birth Abroad
    • Certificate of Citizenship

    Apply for OR Accept Financial Aid Offer (if applicable)
    If you receive an offer of an assistantship or fellowship, please return your award letter to your academic department as soon as possible so your bill can be adjusted well before the payment deadline. If you did not receive an offer, or if you need additional financial aid, you may be eligible for a federal Stafford loan. You can apply at
    * If you are a student in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, you will need to apply for summer and fall while completing your FAFSA.

  • Next Steps

    Immunization Forms
    All new or transfer students are required to complete the Student Immunization Form and provide written proof of required immunizations by July 1 for the Fall semester or December 1 for the Spring semester. Please see Clemson's official Immunization Policy here.
    Exception: If you are enrolled only in online courses, you do not need to comply with medical clearance requirements.

    Submit Official Transcripts
    Official transcripts are only required of those applicants who are offered admission. Therefore, upon receiving official notice of acceptance to the Graduate School, you should request official transcripts from the institutions where you completed your bachelor's and any other previous academic work.

    Transcripts are considered official only if they meet one of the following requirements:

    • Are received by the Graduate Admissions Office in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution.

    • The title of the degree earned and the date awarded must be noted to be considered a final official transcript. Official certificates or diplomas in sealed envelopes from the issuing institution should accompany any transcripts that do not note the degree earned and date awarded directly on the transcripts.

    NOTE: A registration hold will be placed on all students who have not submitted final official transcripts during their first term.

    Transcript Translations
    English translations of all international transcripts are required. Translations are accepted from the issuing institution or translations provided by any NACES or AICE recognized credential evaluation service. Some do not provide translations. Three companies that do provide transcript translations are SpanTran (requests for translations/verifications should be sent to, Josef Silny & Associates, and Scholaro Translation, but you are welcome to use any NACES- or AICE-recognized company. Clemson does not endorse any particular company.

    Plan for Course Registration and Advising
    Note: You will not be advised until you have completed the High Priority pieces above.
    Your academic advisor will contact you via your Clemson email address soon after acceptance. Appointments can take place in person or by phone. To prepare for your advising appointments, it will help to become familiar with the iROAR platform.

  • To Be Completed Before Orientation

    Review Student Handbooks
    Please review the MBA Student Handbook in its entirety before orientation, and familiarize yourself with the Graduate School Student Handbook as well.

    Download the Alertus App
    If you have a smartphone and will be taking any in-person classes, we ask that you download the Alertus+ app. Any emergency notifications for the Greenville ONE building will come through this application.

    Follow these steps to set up Alertus+:

    • Download Alertus+ from the app store
    • Organization code: clemson
    • Email: your Clemson email address
    • Alertus will send a verification email
    • Once verified, go to "subscription" and select Greenville ONE

    How to Purchase Textbooks
    You may choose to buy textbooks after attending the first class or after hearing from the professor, but if you would like to purchase textbooks before the first day, you can use the Clemson Bookstore tool to find which books are required for each class. Textbooks can be purchased from the Clemson Bookstore, outside vendors (such as Amazon or eBay), or sometimes through the MBA Student Association textbook exchange.

    IMPORTANT REMINDER: MBA Program classes start the Monday before classes on the main campus start in fall and spring semesters. Summer schedules follow the main campus schedules.

    Plan for the Clemson Laptop Requirement
    All MBA students are required to have a laptop. Clemson University's recommended laptop specifications and ordering information can be found here: As an incoming student, you can take advantage of Clemson's group prices and extensive support system.

    Plan to Attend Orientation
    Orientation consists of online modules as well as an in-person event at our Greenville ONE campus: 1 North Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Professional headshots will be taken at orientation, so business professional attire is required. You will receive a detailed itinerary for orientation as the date approaches. NOTE: In-person orientation is optional for MBA Online students.

    As part of our action plan to reduce uncertainty amid COVID-19 precautions, we will offer virtual orientation events for all incoming students to help you feel prepared and confident prior to beginning classes. These dates and opportunities will be communicated with you via email prior to your start date.

    In addition to MBA orientation, you will receive onboarding requirements from the Graduate School. This must also be completed prior to starting the program.

    NOTE: You do not need to attend the Graduate School orientation on the main campus although you will receive emails about it. You can view their orientation remotely.

  • International Students

    International Students Requirements
    The Office of International Services has created an International Student Arrival Guide as a resource for international students to help prepare for departure to Clemson University.

    In order to issue the appropriate certificate of eligibility for your visa application process, you will need to complete the following steps:

    TRANSFER STUDENTS: Students transferring an Active SEVIS record from another U.S. institution will also need to submit the IS-100 Request to Transfer-In F-1 SEVIS record or IS-270 Request to Transfer-In J-1 SEVIS record and complete the Transfer-In E-Form. Forms can be found here: Please allow 7-10 business days from the SEVIS transfer release date for processing time of the transfer I-20 or DS-2019.
