I've been accepted! What next?

  Accept Admissions Offer (timely)
  To accept your admission offer, access Clemson's Application Portal.

  Activate Your Clemson Username and Password (timely)
  3-5 days after you accept your offer of admission, you will receive an email from the Graduate School with instructions on accessing your Clemson username and password. Follow the instructions as soon as you receive the email.

  To activate your Clemson University Username:

  1. Visit the Student Onboarding website.
     
  2. You will need your Clemson University XID#, which can be found in your acceptance letter. XID numbers begin with "C" and have eight digits (e.g., C12345678).
  3. You will need your username activation code, which will be emailed to you. Please note that you may receive this email several days after you receive your acceptance letter. If you need this information to be re-sent, please contact the Graduate School Admissions Office or Clemson IT Support (CCIT). Then, you can proceed with authenticating your Clemson University username and creating your password.
  4. After setting up your username and password, you must register with Duo to set up two-factor authentication. Duo is the dual-authentication mobile app Clemson University uses for enhanced web security. This step should be done before setting up your email. View Duo Instructions.

  IMPORTANT: Once you have completed steps 1 - 4, completely CLOSE YOUR BROWSER and open a new session before continuing to email set-up.

  Set Up Clemson Email (timely)
  Clemson's email addresses are in the format <username@clemson.edu>. In partnership with Google, Clemson offers students Google Apps for Education accounts. This account has already been created with your Clemson username: all you need to do is set up your account and password.

  • View instructions for setting up your Google Apps for Education email account.
  • If you'd prefer to opt out of using Google Apps for Education and instead use another email service, view instructions on how to do that.

  Check Your Residency Status
  Please check your Residency Status in iRoar as soon as possible. The Residency Application can be found online. If you are listed as "In Question," or if you are incorrectly marked "Out-of-State," you will need to complete an application. If you feel you have been listed incorrectly, you WILL need to contact the Residency Office. Visit their website for more information.
  NOTE: It is important to complete the residency application as soon as possible if you are required to do so. This process can take up to six weeks to complete.

  Provide Legal Presence Documentation
  At your convenience, please email Carson Watts with a copy or photo of one of the following acceptable documents and she will update your status with the University.

  Acceptable Documentation
  U.S. Citizens - the following documents will be accepted as proof of U.S. citizenship:

  • South Carolina Driver's License first issued after January 1, 2002 (and date of birth after 1/1/1987)
    • It must be a South Carolina license. If you do not have an S.C. license, please email one of the remaining acceptable items below.
  • U.S. Passport (even if expired)
  • U.S. or U.S. Territory Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • U.S. Government-issued Consular Report of Birth Abroad
  • Certificate of Citizenship

  Apply for OR Accept Financial Aid Offer (if applicable)
  If you receive an offer of an assistantship or fellowship, please return your award letter to your academic department as soon as possible so your bill can be adjusted well before the payment deadline. If you did not receive an offer or if you need additional financial aid, you may be eligible for a federal Stafford loan. Apply on the website for Financial Aid.
  * If you are a student in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, you will need to apply for summer and fall while completing your FAFSA.

• Next Steps

  Immunization Forms
  All new or transfer students must complete the Student Immunization Form and provide written proof of required immunizations by July 1 for the Fall semester or December 1 for the Spring semester. Please see Clemson's official Immunization Policy.
  Exception: If you are enrolled only in online courses, you do not need to comply with medical clearance requirements.

  Submit Official Transcripts
  Official transcripts are only required of those applicants who are offered admission. Therefore, upon receiving official notice of acceptance to the Graduate School, you should request official transcripts from the institutions where you completed your bachelor's and any other previous academic work.

  Transcripts are considered official only if they meet one of the following requirements:

  • Are received by the Graduate Admissions Office in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution.

  OR

  • Are received electronically directly from your institution's Registrar's Office (U.S. institutions only). To submit a secure (passcode required) final official transcript electronically, directly from your institution's Registrar's Office, please email them (all other inquiries should be directed to grdapp@clemson.edu).

  AND

  • The title of the degree earned and the date awarded must be noted to be considered a final official transcript. Official certificates or diplomas in sealed envelopes from the issuing institution should accompany any transcripts that do not note the degree earned and the date awarded directly on the transcripts.

  NOTE: A registration hold will be placed on all students who have not submitted final official transcripts during their first term.

  Transcript Translations
  English translations of all international transcripts are required. Translations are accepted from the issuing institution or translations provided by any NACES or AICE recognized credential evaluation service. Some do not provide translations. Three companies that do provide transcript translations are SpanTran (requests for translations/verifications should be sent to intake@spantran.com, Josef Silny & Associates, and Scholaro Translation, but you are welcome to use any NACES- or AICE-recognized company. Clemson does not endorse any particular company.

  Plan for Course Registration and Advising
  Your academic advisor will contact you via your Clemson email address soon after acceptance. Appointments can take place in person or by phone. Preparing for your advising appointments will help you become familiar with the iROAR platform.

  Please review the MBA Student Handbook in its entirety before orientation, and familiarize yourself with the Graduate School Student Handbook as well.

  Download the Alertus App
  If you have a smartphone and will be taking any in-person classes, we ask that you download the Alertus+ app. Any emergency notifications for the Greenville ONE building will come through this application.

  Follow these steps to set up Alertus+:

  • Download Alertus+ from the app store
  • Organization code: clemson
  • Email: your Clemson email address
  • Alertus will send a verification email
  • Once verified, go to "subscription" and select Greenville ONE

  IMPORTANT REMINDER: MBA Program classes start the Monday before classes on the main campus start in the fall and spring semesters. Summer schedules follow the main campus schedules.

  Review Clemson's Tuition Calculator
  Use Clemson's tuition calculator to understand the tuition and associated fees assessed with your program. If you have any questions regarding the use of the calculator, reach out to Financial Aid or contact your academic advisor.

  Plan for the Clemson Laptop Requirement

  Plan to Attend Orientation
  Orientation consists of online modules as well as an in-person event at our Greenville ONE campus: 1 North Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Professional headshots will be taken at orientation, so professional business attire is required. You will receive a detailed itinerary for orientation as the date approaches. NOTE: In-person orientation is optional for MBA Online students.

  NOTE: You do not need to attend the Graduate School orientation on the main campus, although you will receive emails about it. You can view their orientation remotely. In addition to MBA orientation, you will receive onboarding requirements from the Graduate School. This must also be completed before starting the program.

• International Students

  International Students Requirements
  The Office of International Services has created an International Student Arrival Guide as a resource for international students to help prepare for departure to Clemson University.

  To issue the appropriate certificate of eligibility for your visa application process, you will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Wait to receive instructions from the Graduate School on accessing your Clemson username and password (email will be sent 3-5 days after you have accepted your offer of admission).
  2. Follow the instructions from step 2 at the top of this page to access your Clemson username and password. If you already have a Clemson username and password, proceed to step 3.
  3. Complete the instructions on accessing the Sunapsis Student Portal to submit an E-form Request for a Certificate of Eligibility.

  TRANSFER STUDENTS: Students transferring an Active SEVIS record from another U.S. institution will also need to submit the IS-100 Request to Transfer-In F-1 SEVIS record or IS-270 Request to Transfer-In J-1 SEVIS record and complete the Transfer-In E-Form. Please allow 7-10 business days from the SEVIS transfer release date for the processing time of the transfer I-20 or DS-2019.
