Dr. Bolick is a certified GIS Professional (GISP) and a lecturer at Clemson University in the City and Regional Planning program. She has an academic background in environmental conservation, remote sensing, UAVs, machine learning, and geospatial analysis. Dr. Bolick has a professional background in city planning and using GIS to assist local governments in their day-to-day decision-making. In addition to her appointment to the Clemson faculty, Dr. Bolick maintains her professional experience as a part-time Senior GIS Specialist for Bolton & Menk, a civil-engineering consulting firm, in Greenville, SC. In this position, Dr. Bolick assists various municipal clients with developing online GIS tools and conducting spatial analysis that helps improve these communities. Due to Dr. Bolick’s varied GIS experience in the private, public, and environmental sectors, she brings real-world examples of GIS work to her students and develops assignments that teach students tangible analysis skills they can use after graduation. Dr. Bolick enjoys teaching students cutting-edge GIS analysis techniques with applications for urban planning and environmental protection. Dr. Bolick has also served on the board of the local non-profit, Friends of the Reedy River, for the past seven years and is passionate about local environmental protection, advocacy, and education for all ages.
