Austin is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Poinsett Real Estate Partners, a boutique development firm focused on conventional multifamily and build-to-rent communities throughout the Southeast. He oversees every facet of development activity from site selection, design, financing, project execution and asset management.

Prior to Poinsett, Austin was a Partner at Middleburg Communities. He was Middleburg’s first hire for the launch of their development platform in 2014 and later served as the Head of Development. In this role he was responsible for creating a strategic vision, guiding their growth and overseeing all development activities which resulted in the construction of over 6,250 units valued in excess of $1.5 Billion.

Prior to Middleburg, Austin worked at Davis Property Group in Greenville, SC. There he focused on the development of various multifamily product types including student housing, conventional Class A , substantial value-add and one of the first build-to-rent communities in the nation.

Austin earned a B.S. in Business Administration with honors from The Citadel. He also holds a Master’s in Real Estate Development degree from Clemson University.
