Jennifer Smith Rogers
Artist and Partner, Anglin Smith Fine Art
Jennifer Smith Rogers is a Charleston-based artist whose paintings blend expressionistic realism with a distinctive sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and architectural form. Her work captures the energy and beauty of urban landscapes, coastal vistas, and evocative night scenes through bold color, expressive brushwork, and a strong sense of place.
Raised in a family of artists, Jennifer developed a lifelong passion for painting at an early age. She is a partner in her family-owned gallery, Anglin Smith Fine Art, located in Charleston’s historic French Quarter since 2001 and also a second location in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant, where she and her triplet sister, acclaimed painter Shannon Smith Hughes, maintain their working studio. Jennifer’s mother, acclaimed artist Betty Anglin Smith, and her triplet brother, photographer Tripp Smith, complete the family’s multi-generational artistic legacy.
Jennifer entered Clemson University as an architecture major before pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1994, a path that united her love of art with her appreciation for architecture. That relationship continues to shape her work, where light, atmosphere, and the built environment play a central role.
Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries along the East Coast and are included in numerous corporate and private collections, including Walt Disney World, Credit One Stadium, The Charleston Gaillard Center, Marbled & Fin, The People’s Building, the James F. Martin Inn and Stanley Furniture.
Jennifer has remained engaged with Clemson and its design community, previously serving two terms on the Board of Trustees for the Clemson Architectural Foundation (CAF). She is also a member of Plein-Air Painters of the Southeast (PAPSE), an associate member of Oil Painters of America, and the American Impressionist Society.
